  • Readability Tutor

App adjusts to child’s reading level. Produces sentences and highlights the word for the child to read. Helps reading fluidity. If child doesn’t know the word they can click and have it read to them. If they miss a word the app repeats it again and again. If they get words right it moves on and progresses. This also helps with speech as the app needs to hear the words said correctly to move on.

Compliments the method used with The Logic of English.

Low stress, low testing pressure… while offering an understanding of words and learning words with the same root word but different prefix and suffix at the same time.

  • For an extensive well renowned list of sight words that grow with a child’s learning stages, check out these lists by Fry. They sell books and other tools. You can research more online, but here are the lists you can print!

  • Sight words flash cards.

Organized into 5 stacks/levels for memorizing in stages as your child grows. Good for Pre-K to 3rd Grade.

Many flash cards or print outs will work as long as you’re giving your child a visual of the words that require more memorization than phonics. This will give them a huge leg up in reading, especially if you combine phonics.

To each his own however. Some have had great success letting their child breath during these early years and not pressing reading at all. We agree with your choice and believe that as a parent you know what your child responds to and what they need most. Keep doing what you’re best at!

We are just sharing resources for those who can find it helpful.
